Duke’s is located in the hotel lobby. The hand hewed, alpine bar is over 100 years old. It was discovered in Long Island, and when Jim and Nancy saw it, they knew that the Sierra Nevada Lodge was the perfect home for it. The bar is named Duke’s after John Wayne, who stayed at the hotel with his buddies for hunting and fishing trips. Duke’s is the perfect place to meet friends for a drink after skiing, before dinner, or for a nightcap.
